2011 has been a great year for The Paul Peress Project:

JAMAICA JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL:
January began with a trip to Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival, with Paul's band opening for Maroon 5! This concert had several celebrity artists performing with the Paul Peress Project, including Brenda Russell, Phil Perry, Gerald Veasley, Michael Paulo, Glenn Alexander, and Bill Cantos. The following night the Paul Peress Project backed Grammy winner Regina Belle, playing to a crowd of over 10,000... Following Jamaica, they headed west, joined by Jeff Richman, and Jimmy Earl...

HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO, PUNTA CANA:
In April, the Paul Peress Project appeared at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, as part of a weekend fundraiser for Haiti - Peress' band featured Deniece Williams ("Free", "Hear it for the Boys", "Gonna Take a Miracle"), preceded by Manhattan's lead singer Lee Williams ("Shining Star")...

ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL:
In June, Peress returns to the Carribean for the 3rd time this year with an All-Star band, "EAST MEETS WEST", featuring Michael Paulo, Mike Miller, Alphonso Johnson, and Jeffrey Young...

KASLO JAZZ ETC. FESTIVAL, BRITISH COLUMBIA:
A 3rd return engagement to one of the most beautiful places on the planet, and an incredible music loving crowd, Peress brings a quartet to Kaslo, British Columbia, featuring Michael Paulo and Kai Eckhardt...

CANT LET GO - 2010 CD:
On all these performances - drummer, producer, and composer - Paul Peress has been featuring his original compositions from the latest release, "CAN'T LET GO", which features along with Jeff Golub, Glenn Alexander, Mitch Forman, and Dave Mann, a horn section of Tower of Power alumni, and former band members of Grover Washington Jr., James Taylor, Chico Hamilton, Rod Stewart... Peress' long foray into divergent musical styles unearths a combination of Jazz, Rock, Brazilian, and Funk influences in this eclectic yet powerful piece of work with themes of peace, longing, and lost love driving the vocal tunes, and honest, from-the-heart melodies giving life to the instrumental compositions.
